Welcome back again to STORY TIME, boys and girls. We hope you are enjoying our stories and that they have helped you understand some of the important things about God's plan for your life.

I'll bet you couldn't count the times that a grown-up asked you, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

It isn't always easy to have a good answer for that question, but you are never too young to begin to think about your future. Through the years, you may change your mind about the kind of work you want to do when you get out of school, but by the time you are in Junior High, it is important to have something very definite in mind and then prepare for it.

I'm sorry to say that I have talked to many young people who are seniors In high school, and even some students who are attending Junior College, and they still don't know what preparation they should make when they have to earn a living for themselves. When they get out into the "real world", they will have a big problem adjusting from childhood to becoming a happy, responsible adult. If possible. I would like to help you avoid being undecided about YOUR future.

By the time you are out of school, you should be able to enter the business world or be ready to work at a special trade such as, electrician, plumber, painter, etc.. The classes you choose when you get into Junior High and High School should be chosen very carefully so that you will have the proper tools with which you can prepare for your adult life. Your education may be continued in college, but not all students need to attend or can afford college ... it depends upon what type of work or profession you make as your AVOCATION.

The word AVOCATION describes what your occupation or regular employment will be when you get out of school.

Another big word you can add to your vocabulary is the word VOCATION. VOCATION is what a person does in order to earn a living in the business world or the trade world.

Those two words tell us what is expected of us by other people, which is your vocation; and your avocation is to perform God's purpose for your life here on earth.

If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Saviour, God says your avocation is to be His AMBASSADOR. An AMBASSADOR is a person who is sent on a special mission to other people for the purpose of making an agreement between them and the one whom that person represents. As a Christian, you represent Jesus Christ, and you are to be an ambassador for Him.

Jesus Christ is God and man in one person forever. He became a man so that He could die on the cross as our substitute for sin. When Jesus did that. He made it possible for a man to have eternal life by believing that message of salvation.

The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 that Jesus Christ reconciled the world unto Himself when He paid the penalty for all sins, and that He has made each believer an AMBASSADOR for Him. The more you get to know the Lord Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the Bible, the better you will be able to represent Him as His AMBASSADOR to those who do not know Him as their own Saviour.
