JOURNEY STARTS HERE:
Have you made the most important decision of your life?

"He who believes in the son has eternal life, and he who does not believe in the son of God shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36)

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved". (Acts 16:31)

JOURNEY AT HOME, you will find the following lessons & games useful in your journey:

What about SCHOOL?

Boys and girls ... school is designed to make you ready to take your place in society as a responsible citizen, so that means you must work hard for the next ten years.

During your elementary school years you will probably change your mind many times about what you want to do when you grow up, but a perfect time to be serious about your future is when you become a Freshman in high school, because then you can choose subjects during those next four years that will help you prepare for college or for some kind of trade.

Always remember that God has a plan for your life, and He has a destiny for you in eternity too, so be sure you make daily Bible study your number one priority in life. (2 Timothy 2:15)

You will find the following studies very helpful!

FRIENDSHIP

The words of a tattletale may separate good friends...(Proverbs 16:28)

If you want to keep friends, you must be friendly toward them, and you have one true friend (Jesus Christ) who will always stay by your side... (Proverbs 18:24)

Maybe you have a lot of spending money or a nice car. (Proverbs 14:20) tells us that the rich have many friends.

Everyone likes to be popular with his friends, but is that worth losing your reputation? Popularity with people is just a temporary thing, but learning to be popular with the Lord has eternal rewards. When your friends criticize you and think you are weird because you no longer agree to do things you know are wrong, you must not go in their direction...(1 Peter 4:1-4)

A memorable lesson about friendship;

RIGHT THIS WAY

Whenever you find yourself thinking or acting in a way you know is not pleasing the Lord, there is a way to get back into fellowship with Him: "If we confess (name) our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse (purify) us from all unknown sins." (1 John 1:9)

Be sure to name your known sins to God the Father right away, because if you ignore the sin, God will not hear your prayers. (Psalm 66:18)

If you stay out of fellowship with God for a long time, you will become an arrogant fool. First of all you will excuse your foolish thoughts and actions; next you will deceive yourself into thinking you can do no wrong; finally, you will forget about God and become completely absorbed in yourself.

Every believer is commanded to "keep on having happiness at all times." (Philippians 4:4)

The commandment is impossible for us to fulfill, but when we are in fellowship with the Lord and keep learning His Word, He will give us the ability to obey it.

Study these lessons to learn about staying right with God . . . you'll be HAPPY you did!

HELPFUL WARNINGS:  DON'T BE LIKE PINOCCHIO
Stay away from a person who gets angry quickly, because you may learn to be like him. (Proverbs 22:24)
Stay away from acquaintances who are always looking for trouble and who are greedy for money. (Proverbs 1:10-19)

CROSSROADS

Oh look! There's a fork in the road. Should we see where each one leads?

Let's take the side road where the sign says, This way to "BIBLE STUDY".

CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE CAREFULLY ... YOU WILL BE ON IT FOR ALL ETERNITY!

There are only TWO ROADS man may follow. The NARROW GATE leads to eternal life, but the wide road leads to eternal death.

"The broad road leads to destruction, and many will choose to take it. (Matthew 7:13)

"The narrow gate leads to eternal life with God, few people will find it. (Matthew 7:14)

COMPETITION!!!!

SPORTS & OTHER COMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES WILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT PART IN SCHOOL

Our bodies need exercise to keep them healthy. Many of you are personally involved in some kind of sport, and you also enjoy being a spectator. You can enjoy all of them when you are in fellowship with the Lord. (1st John 1:9)

God wants you to be a spiritual champion, and in order to reach that goal your main priority in life must be to put Him first.

1 Corinthians 2:16 tells us that the Bible is the 'mind of Christ'. When we fill our minds with His thoughts and learn to think as He does about everything in life, there will be no problem or difficulty we may encounter that cannot be overcome. (Isaiah 55:8,9)

You can enjoy sports when you are in fellowship with the Lord. The apostle Paul used the ancient Olympic Games as an illustration to teach how a believer should run so that he will receive a full reward in eternity: "Don't you know that only one runner in a game will receive the prize? They run to win a crown of ivy leaves, but a Christian must run the race in order to earn a crown that will never decay. I Paul, am not shadow boxing, but I have learned to take control of my life so I don't lose the rewards God has for me in eternity." (Corinthians 9:24-27)

Every sport depends upon timing
TIMING IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
GOD'S TIMING IS ALWAYS PERFECT!

He has given us 86,400 seconds in every day. That amounts to 864 minutes in each day and 9,048 hours in a week. Every new day is another opportunity for the believer to be in fellowship with the Lord, and to make use of his time to grow spiritually by learning His Word on a daily basis. If you live only to please yourself, your days will be wasted, and you will lose rewards in eternity.

"Stop being foolish! Redeem the time God has given you." (Ephesians 5:15,16)

"Redeem your time on earth. Walk in wisdom toward all men by applying the Bible Doctrine you have learned." (Colossians 4:5)

Study these lessons to learn about God's Timing!

HOW ABOUT COLLEGE?

When you graduate from high school, you may choose three years of military training before finishing your education and taking your place in the world.

Not everyone can be a professional man or woman or a business executive, so going to a college or university may not be right for you. There are many other fields waiting for people who work well with their hands, and learning a trade may be what you need.

If you do decide on college, you will have to consider housing. If you live near the campus, you will be making many new friends.

You must choose your friends carefully so you won't be distracted from the narrow road that leads to a happy spiritual life.

WARNING
Stay away from a person who gets angry quickly, because you may learn to be like him. (Proverbs 22:24)
Stay away from acquaintances who are always looking for trouble and who are greedy for money. (Proverbs 1:10-19)

FRATERNITY  You may belong to a college fraternity

FORK IN ROAD

left fork: in a secret college fraternity, there may be temptations to get into drugs and alcohol, and that often is the result of having a lack of respect for authority.

right fork: God initiates every believer into a special secret fraternity in which are mysteries of the Christian way of life that are part of this unique Church Age. God will teach us about these mysteries and give us the power to operate in them. The apostle Paul said,"I have learned the secret of the fraternity." (Philippians 4:13)

Find time to study your lessons so you will be able to fulfill your reason for being in school!

FINDING YOUR RIGHT PASTOR TEACHER

You must find a man who knows the original languages of scripture and has been given the spiritual gift of pastor-teacher. He will help you grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.(Ephesians 4:11,12)

How can you find a man whose authority you can respect? King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, said if you truly want to know the truth of God's Word, the wisdom comes only from God, and you can have it if you will look for it as you would search for buried treasure. (Proverbs 2:1-5)

The apostle Paul said it is important for every believer in Jesus Christ to learn, believe, metabolize (digest) and apply God's Word in our lives. (Colossians 2:6) If you follow those instructions, you will be able to walk by faith and rest in the many promises that are found throughout the Bible, and you will fulfill God's plan for your life.

Several pastor/teachers we'd like to recommend are:

SHOULD I HAVE MILITARY TRAINING?

Military training is an excellent way to learn respect for authority. It also teaches us to be thankful for our nation and for the men who fought warfare to preserve the freedom we enjoy.

Young people often have trouble deciding what they want to do in life, and the military offers schooling in many areas.

As a Christian soldier in God's army, there are certain pieces of equipment you must learn to use in order to protect yourself from all the worldly influences that could easily distract you from the plan of God for your life. Your warfare as a believer in Christ is not against flesh and blood, but it is against Satan and his demons. (Ephesians 6:12)

Ephesians 6:11-17, gives a list of armor God wants us to wear.  Each article of clothing involves having a knowledge of God's Word, which is Bible Doctrine that has been learned, believed, digested and ready for use when we need it.

ABSOLUTE TRUTH

RIGHTEOUSNESS

THE GOSPEL

HELMET OF SALVATION

WORD OF GOD

"Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you." (Deut. 31:6)

WHAT ABOUT MY FUTURE?

When you've finished your education and you're ready to go out into the world to earn a living, keep in mind that the business world, the professional world or the trade you've chosen as a career is your AVOCATION, not your real vocation in life.

(Ephesians 4:1) tells us that the VOCATION for every Christian is full-time service for the Lord.

Both of these are a part of your life on this earth.

If having a lot of money is your greatest desire in life, take a look at what (Timothy 6:10) has to say about riches: "The love for money is the root of ALL KINDS OF EVIL".

(Mark 8:36) asks the following question: "What good would it be if a man could gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"

The prophet Haggai says that a man may work very hard for the things of 4this world, but he never seems to have enough. The money he earns eventually ends up in a bag that is full of holes. (Haggai 1:6) Man just can't seem to get ahead!

The answer to every real or imaginary problem is found in (Matthew 6:31), which tells us to diligently seek for the things of God first, and He will provide everything we need in life.

REMEMBER:   We can only diligently seek Him if we study His Word!
Learning Bible Doctrine should be your #1 PRIORITY in life!

FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT

There's something special about good entertainment. It takes your mind off everyday life and puts you in another world temporarily.

You can enjoy fun and entertainment in the world when you're in fellowship with the Lord.

King Solomon, the wisest and wealthiest man who ever lived, was able to have every kind of pleasure we could possibly imagine. He tells us in (2 Chronicles 9:21) that he imported apes and peacocks from a distant land to entertain himself, but after many years of searching for pleasure and living only to please himself, Solomon came to the conclusion that life was empty without fellowship with the Lord. (Ecclesiastes 2:1,2)

In his old age, Solomon finally applied his God-given wisdom and got back into fellowship with the Lord. His advice to each one of us is,"Learn to trust and obey the Lord while you are young, because that is the whole purpose for your life on earth." (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

"The joy of the Lord is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10b)

"Happy is the man who finds wisdom (the kind that results from learning and believing God's Word) and the man who gains understanding (by applying Bible Doctrine to his everyday life)" (Proverbs 3:13)

The Lord wants His children to be happy, but inner happiness and contentment, wisdom and understanding are found only by having God's thoughts to guide us through life.

The Lord sets the stage on which you are to be an active player, and your script is the Word of God.

As a believer grows spiritually, he will learn to be happy in both prosperity and adversity. The key to happiness is found in learning God's Word. Happiness is a MENTAL ATTITUDE, NOT A FEELING..

Every believer is commanded to "keep on having happiness at all times." (Philippians 4:4)
