Consider the Works of God

There are many beautiful things made by man throughout the centuries that have been and are being admired and appreciated, but how often do people demonstrate the same appreciation for what God has provided? Let's consider the works of God from a Biblical viewpoint .....

King David was Israel's' greatest king, and he wrote some very beautiful Psalms such as Psalm 8:3,4: "When I consider the heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have ordained, what is man that you are mindful of him?"

We read in Psalm 33:6 that God spoke and all things were created: "By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made and all the host of them (angelic beings) by the breath of His mouth."

Hebrews 1: 1 0 tells us: " And You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Y our hands. "   John 1:3 states that the Lord Jesus Christ is the creator of everything in the universe.

In Colossians 1:16 the apostle Paul said regarding Jesus Christ:   "For by Him and for Him all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether they are throne, dominions, or principalities or powers, they were created by Him and for Him."

One day some people who had been following Jesus asked Him:

"What shall we do that we might work the works of God?" Jesus answered, "This is the work of God, that you believe on Him (Jesus Christ, the Son of God ) whom He (the Father) has sent." (John 6:28, 29)

Generally speaking, man takes for granted the works of God ... even life itself! However, it isn't physical life that is important, but it is ETERNAL LIFE that we must think about. The apostle John tells us in 1 John 5:11,12 how we may obtain eternal life:   "And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, and he who has not the Son of God has not life. These things have I written unto you who believe on the name of the Son of God so you may know that you have eternal life."

Salvation comes to man by FAITH ALONE IN CHRIST ALONE ... ADDING NOTHING MAN CAN DO TO EARN SALVATION. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for all the sins of the world when He died on a cross 2,000 years ago.

"There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4: 12)
